May 4, 2010 - Thanks to all for your votes today. Because of your support,
I received the highest number of votes in the court of appeals primaries. Please continue to pass the word on to
everyone you meet in Lorain, Medina, Summit, and Wayne counties.
May 7, 2010 - What a great night we had for our specialty dog and suds! Kim and her crew did a marvelous job
on the food. The grill gang cooked the dogs to perfection, as usual. Thanks to all who came out to enjoy the evening
and make the event a success!
May 22, 2010 - The rain
held off for the Barberton Cherry Festival Parade. Thanks to all the well-wishers who came out in spite of the questionable
weather. We had a great time!
May 31, 2010 - What
a great Memorial Day! We started out with a beautiful Mass at Queen of Heaven. Then we went over to the Green Memorial
Day parade and got most of the way through before the clouds really broke. Thanks to everyone who wished us well,
and most importantly, thanks to all of our brave soldiers, living and deceased, for fighting to
preserve the freedom we so cherish. May God bless you all; and may God bless America!
June 11th - We had a great time at the Community
Outreach Festival parade. Everyone was nice and very welcoming. Thank you!
June 11-13 - We were in Cuyahoga Falls for
the A.O.H. Irish festival. We met lots of people on Saturday. The weather held off on Sunday for a beautiful Mass.
It was a great weekend!
June 19th - We were
in Avon for the fantastic Duct Tape Festival Parade! Everyone was extremely nice. We enjoyed participating and
watching the Duct Tape costumes and vehicles. Thank you to all who welcomed us so warmly!
June 22nd - We returned to Wadsworth for the Blue Tip Festival Parade. WOW! What
a huge turnout we had! It is always nice to return to Wadsworth, which I called home until the fourth grade, and march
past my old homestead and the Foote's house there on Broad Street. Many thanks to all for the warm welcome again!
June 26th - We were back to Firestone Park today for their festival
parade. As usual, the people were friendly. The route was a bit shorter this year, but no less enjoyable!
June 27th - First we went to Brunswick for the Old-Fashion Days parade. In spite
of the intense heat, a huge crowd showed up to celebrate 50 years as a community. Everyone was very supportive.
Thank you, Brunswick! Happy 50th!
After Brunswick
we ventured up to Columbia Station for the Columbia Homecoming Festival parade. We got the parade completed in time
to beat the severe weather that came in from Toledo and spawned funnel clouds in Medina and North Royalton. It was our
pleasure to join you all for the late afternoon. We look forward to seeing you again.
June 30th - We kicked off the 4th of July weekend with the Orrville Firefighters Association's
Independence Day Parade. There was a great turnout, and everyone was friendly. We met about 2000 great folks that
night. Thank you to the firefighters for a wonderful event and for all of your work keeping us safe!
July 4th - We were in Chippewa Lake for the Lions 4th of July Parade, in Wellington for their
parade, and we finished the day in Medina with their parade. What a day it was. We enjoyed meeting more than 1500
people, who were all very supportive.
July 5th
- We met more than 3000 people along the parade route and were encouraged by so many well-wishing people. Thank you
Stow for a well-organized and well-run parade. It is always a pleasure to come to Stow.
July 10th - What a wonderful day we had at the Fiestas Patronales Parade and Festival
at Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain! The people along the route were very warm and welcoming, and the food at the festival
was magnificent. We had tacos, tamales, burritos, and tostadas and topped those off with delicious, waffle ice
cream sandwiches. Thank you to the Sacred Heart community for such a nice afternoon.
July 11th - We returned to Amherst for the 37th Annual Old-Time Jamboree Parade through downtown.
We noticed the number of people out for the parade was not as high as in the past, but the folks were friendly as always,
nonetheless. Thank you, Amherst for a nice afternoon.
July 15th - Tonight it was the Lodi Sweet Corn Festival Parade, which, as always, was very well attended by the warm
and welcoming folks from the Lodi area. This year we were behind the firetruck, so we could hear the people
we spoke to along the parade route! Thanks, Lodi for a nice evening.
Due to unforseen family circumstances we were sorry to have had to miss the Wellington
Cheese Festival Parade on July 17th, the LaGrange Lions Parade on July 22nd, and the Johnny Appleseed Festival and parade
in Applecreek on July 24th. We look forward to returning again to each of these
great communities in the coming years.
August 6th - We returned to Doylestown for the Rogues Hollow Festival Parade. It was a beautiful evening
and the homemade ice cream topped it all off nicely. Thank you to the residents of the Doylestown area for your wonderful
hospitality. Unfortunately, we had to miss the Richfield Community Days Parade tonight. We have yet to figure
out bilocation! But we look forward to next year.
August
7th - We were once again at the Bath Community Days Parade on a lovely Saturday morning. Thank you to Dave Shriber and
all of the Bath community for your warm welcome. We always love to return to Bath.
August 15th - We were back to North Ridgeville for the 2010 Corn Festival and
Parade. As usual, the day was great, even though we baked on the parade route. I saw several of my fellow Sir
Knights along the route. The corn was the best we have had this year! Thank you, North Ridgeville for another
great day.
August 19th - We were pleased to attend the
candidate reception and dinner at the Wayne County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. We met many nice folks who made the evening
quite enjoyable. Thank you!
August 21st - We returned
to the West Akron Community Day Parade and had a wonderful time. Thanks to all who remembered me and wished me well
this year. As always, the people along this parade were very nice. Thank you again for such a nice welcome.
August 23rd - We were at the Portage Country Club for the Greater Akron Chamber Candidates
& Elected Officials Reception. What a great turnout there was for a beautiful evening event! Thank you to
all who wished me well.
August 26th - Tonight was the
Annual Akron Boards of Trade Council "Meet Your Officials" Pork Chop Picnic. This was another fine event with
delcious food and fine company. Thanks to the council for your work to bring us all together. We look forward
to returning next year.
